As a responsible Company, My Place in Cornwall are complying with Government directions to minimise the risk of our clients, staff and any person visiting our office contracting Covid-19.

We have therefore temporarily closed our office, however, you can still contact our work from home team members who are continuing to carry out appointments, manage sales, handle e-mail communication and monitor calls.

Although we appreciate everyone is going through a difficult time full of uncertainty, we are very aware that we must continue to offer a professional service for our home-sellers and buyers.

We are a dynamic forward-thinking company and are still here to help you achieve a smooth and successful sale, albeit in a slightly different way, and ensuring the health and safety of our customers and staff.

We also understand that one of the greatest difficulties facing those still in isolation will come from loss of social interaction. At My Place in Cornwall, we have a strong social presence with a variety of regular blogs and articles on all subjects available to read now on our website.

Are you thinking about selling your property?

Spring is renowned for being the best time to sell, with the weather improving, and buyers keen to make a new move in time for the summer.

During the full lockdown, we experienced a high level of enquiries from potential buyers looking for their next home, so why not take advantage of this opportunity? We have also seen an increase in appraisal requests, which in turn proves that the local market remains very buoyant.

We have continued to offer the highest level of service throughout the lockdown, and were offering free desktop appraisals. We are now able to offer you a free virtual appointments, and where possible we can visit properties again, subject to meeting the Governments safety criteria.

We can still market your property in the usual way, and ensure it appears on all of the property portals including, Rightmove, Zoopla, and Prime Location. Your property will also appear on our bespoke website. Remembering that the majority of buyers start their house search online and with more people at home while restrictions are being eased, this may well increase.

We are still having daily conversations with buyers and can start generating interest in your property straight away by asking them to view virtual tours to ensure they are serious about viewing in person. If they are, we can then arrange to accompany them to view your property safely with a member of our sales team. We will progress your sale to exchange of contracts in the same way that we normally would. Our sales progression team are second to none and are working as normal and you can still speak to your solicitor and us. As conditions are changing almost daily, we may however need to work with you and your buyer to adapt your completion date to ensure that we are complying with current government guidance on social distancing.

Are you thinking of buying a property?

We can discuss your requirements over the phone, or video call, and register you on our database to receive suitable property alerts. When you find a property you like, we are offering virtual viewings in the first instance, then should you wish to view, we can arrange this for you subject to our viewing safely policy.

We work closely with some fantastic mortgage and financial advisors who we can refer to you to speak to and get the best advice on how to fulfil your purchase needs at this time.

Should you view a property virtually and wish to make an offer but can’t travel to view in person, you can of course still do this, and we will manage your offer with the seller of the property in the same way that we normally would. As conveyancing may be delayed due to various factors during this time, we will work closely with your solicitor to keep you updated by phone and email.

If you are concerned about the move itself due to various risk factors, we will work to schedule your moving date to suit both yourself and the seller when the time is appropriate and you have access to the services that you need.
